Are you curious about the intricate world of local wildlife?
Join us in the north meadow of Hawk Cliff Woods on the morning of June 20th to explore the fascinating world of moths. In partnership with St. Thomas Field Naturalist Club, and with the guidance of moth expert, Ecological Restoration Practitioner, and Climate Hero, Mary Gartshore, we will observe moths up close, identify their species, and learn about their importance and lifestyle in local habitats. All ages and levels of nature lovers are welcome!
Registration and ticket purchase are required for this event. Kids can register for free (please indicate as a +1). Ticket sales will be divided by TTLT and St. Thomas Field Naturalist Club to directly fund future outdoor experiences and inspire local connections to nature.
NOTE:
- Please do not bring butterfly nets. All insects will be safely handled by experts and attracted with specialized equipment. This is not a hands-on event.
- Accessibility: Please be aware that there will be some uneven terrain. Parking is a short walk from the event space.
- Parking: Parking is available in the designated area behind the shed at the end of the laneway. Attendants will be on site to assist. We ask that you consider carpooling if possible.

- It is possible that you may encounter ticks at this nature reserve. Make sure to check for ticks before leaving the event and again once you arrive home. More information on ticks can be found here.
*This is the second part of a two-day event. Join us the previous evening at the Moth Exploration Night on June 19th to observe moths that reside amongst the meadow. Tickets must be purchased separately for each event.*
