Hidden in the City of London, Westminster Ponds is a large complex of woodlands and wetlands, known for its diversity of habitats. This winter visit will offer fresh air, a chance to "stretch your legs" and explore the rolling topography of the moraine. David Wake has a long and personal connection to this natural gem in the city. Participants will learn about the glacial activity that created this unique landscape and pick up some tips for identifying trees in winter. Be prepared for winter walking. Depending on temperatures, trails may be icy or muddy.
