Volunteer Opportunity: Chocolate Vine Removal

Chocolate Vine male and female flowersDid you know chocolate grew on vines? Neither did I, but this plant is not so sweet. Chocolate Vine is an emerging invasive, non-native plant in Ontario. Originally from Asia, this aggressive vine spreads rapidly while displacing native understory plants, and can climb, smother, and kill native trees and shrubs. Without management, Chocolate Vine is capable of creating a dense monoculture. Help us remove this plant before it can spread further!

This event involves hand pulling and digging plants, which requires stooping or kneeling

Join us at MeadowWoods on July 14th, 2025, to help remove Chocolate Vine from the forest and allow native plants to grow.

Directions and additional information will be provided at time of registration.
