Passport to Nature: Maples and Mastodons

The Ridgeview Wetlands portion of Five Points Forest flanks a ridge of coarse, glacially deposited sediment laid down when mastodons roamed nearby. While learning about today’s diverse ecosystem, we will take a walk through time, seeing evidence left by retreating ice lobes, and their rising and falling lakes. Enjoy a cornucopia of fall Carolinian colours on a land conceived of continental changes, stewarded by Indigenous peoples, and still holding its earthly beauty. Join earth scientist Desmond Moser at Five Points Forest near Ingersoll.
