Thames Talbot Land Trust presents the unique opportunity to learn from an expert. Bipin Dhinsa is the president of the Toronto Entomologists Association and is ready to share his expertise in each of these interactive sessions.

In this workshop you will receive a butterflying kit and learn how to properly spread and pin your butterflies. Following the event the butterflies are yours to bring home as a great memory.

This event is for anyone over the age of 10.

Note: Since this event is held indoors, proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required for all participants 12 and older, as required by Ontario regulations.

Question: Where do the butterflies come from?

Answer: They are collected naturally from their environment after they have passed or some are killed ethically from farms, which is a common practice across the world and even here in Canada so that those in the wild are not collected illegally. Those killed from farms are killed the same way that we (scientist) kill by using special chemicals that kill them within seconds safely.
