Join us at Five Points Forest on November 5th, 1-4pm, for an Adopt-a-patch workshop. If you haven't yet signed up to adopt your patch, you can do so here.
The Adopt-a-patch program aims to engage property stewards in ecological restoration by removing invasive species from their "patch" annually to protect surrounding habitat. This will lead to planting of the cleared areas with native species once the invasive ones have been kicked out!
At this event new patch guardians will choose your 10m x 10m patch and receive a patch toolkit containing a bucket, trowel, garbage bags, work gloves, and garlic mustard information sheet. We will provide training in garlic mustard identification and removal, and you will have the opportunity to work on your patch.
Existing patch guardians will be able to attend the training (if you need a refresher!) and work on your patch.
This is an outdoor event and will take place rain or shine. Please come dressed for the weather and bring water and snacks.
