Background:

Gillies Nature Tract was generously donated by George Gillies, who wanted to protect this beautiful habitat in perpetuity. This nature reserve is a designated Provincially Significant Wetland (PSW).

Description:

Gillies Nature Tract is a mixture of upland forest and wetland. The extensive interior forest provides home to many sensitive forests breeding birds, including several species at risk such as Eastern Wood-pewee and Wood Thrush. The wetlands are home to many amphibians and reptiles.
