Postponed: Volunteer Training: Tree ID

Person standing beside american beech and grapevineHow well do you know the trees in your neighbourhood?

Note: This event has been postponed to April 17th.

If you're unsure, this may be the event for you! These tree-mendous beauties grow all across the Forest City. Whether you're walking along a city street or visiting a TTLT nature reserve, trees are sure to be found. Come out to learn tips and tricks on how to get on a first-name basis with your local tree species!

What to Expect:

This 1-hour session for volunteers will be split into two parts:

1) A short presentation indoors

2) A hike outside around Westminster Ponds.

Volunteers will be introduced to basic tree biology, important characteristics for identification, dichotomous keys, online resources, and common tree species found in London. The outdoor component will most likely be focused on winter tree ID techniques, depending on the progression of spring. A resource list will be provided as a follow-up email after the event.

Please note: Only those who are signed up for our email list will automatically receive the follow-up email (you can unsubscribe at any time). Otherwise, the resource list can be sent to individuals who reach out directly.

RSVP today for this skills building opportunity on tree identification!
