Adopt-a-Patch at Five Points Forest

Join us at Five Points Forest on April 23th, 1-4pm, for an Adopt-a-Patch workshop.

The Adopt-a-Patch program aims to engage property stewards in ecological restoration by removing invasive species from their "patch" annually to protect surrounding habitat. This will lead to planting of the cleared areas with native species once the invasive ones have been kicked out! More info on the Adopt-a-Patch program here.

If you're new to Adopt-a-Patch, you will choose your 10m x 10m patch and receive a patch toolkit containing a bucket, trowel, garbage bags, work gloves, and garlic mustard information sheet. We will provide training in garlic mustard identification and removal, and you will have the opportunity to work on your patch.

If you already have a patch, this is an opportunity to come out and work on it again. You're welcome to attend the training portion if you'd like a refresher. Don't forget to bring your patch kit!

Don't want to commit to a patch? That's fine too! Come out for the day and pull Garlic Mustard between the patches.

This is an outdoor event and will take place rain or shine. Please come dressed for the weather and bring water and snacks.
